Equine
Horses – Raising horses is a business for many people in Dent
County and a hobby for many more. There are a variety of breeds raised
in the area. Among the popular breeds are quarter, gaited, saddle and
walking horses.
Horse Shows are held each summer.
They are sponsored by the Dent County Saddle Club, Salem Saddle Club and
the 4-H Club (youth organization). These range from performance shows,
association shows and fun shows. There are a number of team roping and
penning events, as well. Check our community calendar or contact one of
the local clubs for dates, time and places.
